Appleton AFA and AFAX Series provides emergency shut off for conveyor lines and bulk handling systems that become misaligned or run off their tracks due to excessive speed, uneven load, leveling, breakage or other problems. The AFA Series provides a NEMA 4X rated enclosure and has a gasketed cover rated for NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 4X, while the AFAX Series is rated for use in Class I and Class II hazardous environments where flammable vapors or highly combustible dusts are present. Emergency shut off for misaligned conveyor lines and bulk handling systems. Supports interface with alarm or computer system. Can be used in the control circuit of a magnetic motor starter to shut down motor driven conveyors in case of belt misalignment or run-off. Used in pairs, with one switch placed on each side of the conveyor belt. Recommended for installation near the tail and head pulleys on conveyors 300 feets.
